As an engineer, she oversaw diverse projects, from space shuttles to financial models. Alex credits mindfulness for her achievements, providing crucial support while overcoming setbacks from Ehler-Danlos Syndrome.

She played a pivotal role in establishing the prestigious USC Center for Mindfulness Science. As a member of the steering committee, her influence continues to support the center's groundbreaking work through her contributions toward mindfulness-based programs and mental health as well as mindfulness and psychedelic research.
In addition, she holds a prominent position as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher for InsightLA, a testament to her remarkable commitment to mindfulness. Furthermore, she serves as a faculty member, mentor, and DEI advisor for Compassionate Inquiry®.
